  1. Just how tough is this loop???? For people to max out with the numbers I am looking at (for the past two years), with the exception of Rodger, they are very low making me believe this loop if KILLER, yet the elevation gain and loss per loop don’t seem tough at all. Is it the elevation in general that is getting to people and making them unable to do more?? Thanks much, Tracy

    • Tracy,

There is 250 feet of climb per mile but most of that happens in less than a quarter of a mile and because of that, some sections are fairly steep. I just posted some pictures to my Facebook account and we’ll be posting some more here, shortly . Also, remember that you are at 9318 feet elevation, from the start. We had some HURT 100 members with us for the event this year and they said that they felt doing a 100 miles on this course felt more difficult than doing the HURT 100. Rodger
